Ginkgo Biloba (or the Maidenhair tree) is believed to be the world’s oldest living tree species. For around 5,000 years Ginko has been grown in China as a sacred and medicine tree. It’s leaves are used in traditional Chinese medicine for their ability to assist in brain functions and to relax the lungs relieving symptoms of coughs and asthma.
Ginko biloba extract has been shown to improve blood flow to the brain, alleviate symptoms of senility, short-term memory loss, vertigo, headaches, varicose veins and ringing in the ears. It’s a great brain nutrient that can improve concentration and relieve other mental symptoms commonly found with aging.
Teas are best taken in large doses about 3 cups a day for 3-4 months, tintures and tablets are also available (follow the instructions on the bottle).
